Las cortinas de hoy a cargo de la saxofonista chilena Melissa Aldana, quien mañana 3 de diciembre cumple 33 años.
Seguimos con el saxofonista canadiense Cory Weeds desde With Strings: What Is There To Say? (Cellar Music | Nov 19, 2021), el saxofonista, uno de los principales embajadores del jazz canadiense, lanza su 18ª álbum como líder con acompañamiento de una sesión cuerdas de 18 componentes. El chico de tapa Alex Riel, más Bo Stief & Carsten Dahl desde Our Songs (Storyville Records | Nov 26, 2021), un rediscazo, muy melozón, súper melodioso…, si bien el trio firma el álbum con liderazgo compartido, las luces apuntan al baterista quien estuvo codo a codo con los más grandes personajes del universo jazzero desde muy jóven como Bill Evans, Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon y Monica Zetterlund, entre otras tantas luminarias; luce igual de brillante el pianista Carsten Dahl.
Otra muy celebrada intérprete por su calidez y ángel musical es la pianista japonesa Yoko Miwa, al frente de un trio con Songs of Joy (Ubuntu Music | Feb 12, 2021), la pianista ha cosechado frondosas alabanzas a su forma tan lírica de interpretar. Otro músico japonés, el contrabajista Motoi Kanamori al frente de su trio también con Invisible World (Laplace Records | Junio 8, 2021) con interpretaciones fenomenales de clásicos del género.
Los dos últimos: Christian McBride & Inside Straight con Live at the Village Vanguard (Mack Avenue Records | Nov 26, 2021), una continuación del álbum Live at the Village Vanguard, ganador del premio GRAMMY®, publicado en 2015; y cerramos con Ivo Neame, el celebrado pianista del grupo Phronesis, en éste álbum como solista líder de grupo, con Glimpses of Truth (Whirlwind Recordings | Nov 26, 2021), álbum polentón donde el pianista dirije a un numeroso grupo de jóvenes músicos.
